We LOVE our scooters in Key West! If you’ve never been, it’s hard to imagine the size of the island. It’s small enough to be cozy (about six square miles) but big enough that you can really wear yourself out if you try to walk everywhere. Parking can be a huge hassle, especially if you’re arriving on a cruise ship with 5,000 of your closest friends, and you all want to go to Margaritaville or the Ernest Hemingway House at the same time.  😉

Scooters are the fastest and easiest way to get around Key West, by far. While they are newbie-friendly, you do have to know a little bit about how to operate your rental scooter safely. Our buddy with one of our scooter rental partners was kind enough to show Natalie the ropes on a two-person Yamaha model. He goes over how to open the storage compartment, how to lock up the scooter, how to start it, and how to drive it.

If you’re going to be around for a few days, you will get a bit of a break on the price…the longer you rent if for, the less your scooter costs per day. But even if you’re only going to be on the island for a few hours, you can still get a rental term that will work for you. (I wasn’t kidding…when a cruise ship docks, it seems like half the passengers want to rent a scooter! So booking in advance can save you time.)

If you’re coming for Fantasy Fest or other big event, it really pays to book in advance because scooters do sell out at times. So try to give us a call at 888-667-4386 at least a couple of weeks in advance to be sure there’s a scooter waiting for you when you get here.
