What kind of Jet Skis do you have?
We operate Yamaha EX and VX Jet Skis. They are 1100cc, 115 hp, and can go up to 45 mph.
I do not know how to swim. Is it safe to do the tour?
Absolutely! All drivers and passengers are required to wear a full life vest So if you end up off the Jet Ski at any time, you will still be safe. Our guides will be with you the whole way, so there is nothing to worry about.
I have never driven a Jet Ski before. Can I come on the tour?
We love taking people out for the first time! Our tour guides will give you all the instructions you will need before departure, and they will be with you the whole way. Driving our Jet Skis is easy to learn and a lot of fun!
Is there a minimum age for passengers?
We do not recommend this tour for infants and small toddlers, 5 years + and feet touch the floor board. As the child’s guardian, you know best whether your child will enjoy 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) bouncing around on a Jet Ski. We do take young children out on the Island Jet Ski tour often, and most of them have a blast! However, this is at the tour guides’ discretion. At the end of the day, we want to make sure everyone has fun with us (especially the little guys), so they will take the day’s weather and waves as well as the child’s weight into account to decide whether your child will be safe on our Jet Skis. Call us at 305-587-4386 and we would be happy to assist you.
What is the Boater’s Safety Course?
The Boater’s Safety course is a multiple-choice test we give out before our tours. We ask those taking the test to arrive an hour before the tour’s departure to complete this before the standard check-in. You will receive a pamphlet with all the information you will need to pass the test. It covers the basic ‘rules of the road’ and what signage means out on the water. The test is an open book and typically takes 20-30 minutes.
This test is required by Florida’s FWC Commission for all drivers born in 1988 or later. This requirement can be waived if a passenger on the Jet Ski is over the age cut off. Once completed, the driver will receive a temporary license valid anywhere in the State of Florida for 90 days (about 3 months) – so you will only have to take the test once during your stay.
