Jet Boat Regulations & Restrictions

• MANDATORY: MUST BRING 1 Credit Card per reservation
• MANDATORY: MUST BRING 1 I.D. that includes date of birth per guest (ages 16 and older)
• MANDATORY: MUST complete a Boater Safety Test if guest does not have a Florida Boater Safety License
• The Operator on each boat must have a basic understanding of the English Language
• Guests MUST be at least 18 years old or have a parent/legal guardian present at check-in to participate
• Guests Born in or after 1988, please check-in 60 minutes before departure time
• Guests Born in or after 1988 may operate the Jet Ski if they have a Photo I.D. and meet ONE of the following criteria:
• They have a National Association of State Boating Law Administrators Certification
• They are riding with someone born before 1988
• They are riding with someone born in or after 1988 who does have a United States Boater Safety License or National Association of State Boating Law Administrators Certification
• There are 2 ways to obtain a Boater Safety License:
• A temporary Boater Safety License can be obtained at check-in by taking a 25 multiple choice question open book test in English. There is a fee of $3.00 to take the test per rider (cash or credit card accepted). Riders must check-in 1 hour before departure time to obtain a temporary Boater Safety License

• Guests that do need to do the test: please check in 1 hour before departure time
• Guests 4-13 years of age may only accompany as a passenger to someone who is at least 18 years of age. A parent/legal guardian must be present at check-in to sign paperwork. They are not allowed under any circumstance to operate the boat

Cancellation Policy

• We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Any trip canceled 24 hours in advance will be refunded in full.
• Our captains assess the weather on the day of the scheduled activity.
• If they determine that the trip will be unsafe, the trip will be postponed or canceled.
• We will immediately try to reschedule our guests’ activity if possible, but we will issue full refunds if need be.

FAQ’S

I haven’t driven a boat in a long time, can I still participate in this tour?

Absolutely! Our experienced tour guides give expert instruction on how to operate the safari boats and ensure each and every driver is completely comfortable before beginning the tour. Guests should have previous boating experience.

Can we bring our child with us? Can you put 3 in a boat?

If your child is not over 40 pounds they should be able to fit in the boat with 2 adults. The Child rate is $49. The child rate is only offered as a 3rd person in the boat.

Will we be snorkeling at the reef?

The reef is 8 miles off shore, this trip takes you to the backcountry of Key West through the Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary. We have some amazing snorkeling in the Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary. Additionally, the Safari tour gives you an opportunity to not only snorkel but explore some of the most beautiful waters, beaches and islands in the highly sought after but rarely navigated backcountry. This is one of Key West’s best kept secrets.

Is there free parking?

Yes, there is free parking at our Cow Key Marina facility.

We do not provide any food and beverage on this tour. You may bring a very small soft cooler. Please do not bring glass.

Required – Florida Boaters Safety: Florida Law requires everyone born after Jan 1, 1988 to take a boaters safety test to drive a boat. Each driver must present a passed boaters safety test prior to departure. Tests can be taken online, click here.

The boats are custom 2-person pistol boats. A third (very small) person can be added to the boat if they are under 40 lbs.
